Label decryption: a complicated exercise

Our food supplements can be perfectly adapted to each of you thanks to our unitary approach. Our products are at the service of your health and, above all, they must not harm you.

This is why we have made strong commitments, since the creation of the laboratory, not to use controversial substances or additives. Today, we are still faithful to this commitment to you, thanks to a controlled production and a rigorous selection of
our ingredients, excipients, and capsules.

For example, we have chosen to no longer use microcrystalline cellulose. Although it is a non-controversial vegetable fiber, some undesirable effects may have appeared in some users. This is why we have decided to no longer use it in our productions despite the absence of any known risk. We now prefer, as the only excipient and additive, an ORGANIC acacia fiber, which is harmless to the body and respectful of
the environment.

To continue to help you with the multitude of food supplements available, we suggest that you better decipher their labels. For this, we have taken a list of additives frequently incorporated by manufacturers in the sector, who are not very attentive to your health. We hope that this list will help you to avoid purchasing risky products for yourself and your loved ones.

QUESTIONABLE ADDITIVES = DANGER

Many low-end food supplements contain many additives, some of which should be questioned because of the risks they may have on your health. One might think that to identify them, it would suffice to find on their labels the presence of substances presented under numbers beginning with E. However, this presentation in the form of a code (Exxx) only means that this substance has been authorized at the European level. Not all permitted additives are hazardous. For example, our ORGANIC acacia fiber can also be presented under the code E414, provided this product is not harmful. Further research is therefore needed. To help you, we provide below a list of additives commonly used in poor-quality food supplements.

You will never find these additives in ORONALYS products:

- Magnesium Salts of Fatty Acids (E470b): Derived from fats of undetermined origin (animal or vegetable), they are not authorized in organic. Even from a vegetable source they can contain GMOs, and come from hydrogenated oils, which cause breast cancer, hypercholesterolemia, atherosclerosis, diabetes, cardiovascular risks, hepatic dysfunction and, psychiatric consequences.

- Magnesium Stearate (E572): Derived from fats of undetermined origin (animal or vegetable), it is not authorized in organic. Even from a plant source, it can contain GMOs, be contaminated with pesticides or heavy metals. It may also contain hydrogenated oils such as Magnesium Salts of Fatty Acids. It may have a laxative effect. It is also suspected of causing allergies.

- Silicon dioxide (sometimes called Diatomaceous Earth) or Talc (E551 or E553b): Anti-caking agent, it contains nanoparticles causing oxidative stress in certain cells of the intestine. The European Food Safety Authority (Efsa) has requested a reassessment of this substance with toxicity studies.

- Potassium Sorbate (E202): Synthetic preservative which is not authorized in organic, suspected of being mutagenic, that is to say that it changes the genome of a cell in an anarchic way.

- Sodium benzoate (E211): Synthetic preservative which is not authorized in organic products, it is derived from benzene, which can cause hypersensitivity and allergic reactions (asthma, pruritus, redness). It promotes hyperactivity in children.

- Rice bran or rice extract: Rice bran may contain arsenic in a toxic form in relatively large amounts.
